OCC securities lending activity increases again

OCC's securities lending volume through its central counterparty (CCP) was up 30 percent in new loans in October, compared to the same period last year.
The equity derivative clearinghouse oversaw 206,550 securities lending transactions last month.
Year-to-date securities lending activity was up 21 percent, with 1.91 million new loan transactions in so far in 2017.
The average daily loan cleared by OCC was valued at $144.3 billion last month.
OCC’s cleared futures volume was also up 18 percent in October, chalking up 10.4 million contracts over the month.
Year-to-date average daily cleared futures volume was up 38 percent with 557,597 contracts.
