WeMatch has appointed Shane Martin as head of sales on securities financing.

Martin joins from JPMorgan Chase, where he spent two years as managing director as part of the equity finance division.

Before that, he worked for Deutsche Bank where he served in its equity finance business in a number of roles from 2002.

In total he has spent more than 20 years managing equity finance trading teams within prime finance.

His new position is a newly-created role, where Martin will lead the securities financing sales strategy with a focus on developing WeMatchs securities lending and repo products.

WeMatch states that Martins strong product expertise will accelerate adoption of WeMatch technology within the securities lending and repo communities, leveraging on the growing success of its global equity swaps franchise.

David Raccat, WeMatch co-founder and head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, says: We are very honoured and excited to welcome Shane in our team, and I am convinced he will bring huge value through his expertise, creativity and enthusiasm.

Martin joined shortly after WeMatch achieved the milestone of showing an outstanding balance of more than $50 billion across its European and US platforms.
