Standard Chartered selects Lu as CEO for China

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Jean Lu as CEO for China and executive vice chairperson of the board of Standard Chartered China.
In her new role, Lu will oversee the banks operations in mainland China, reporting to Mary Huen, CEO for Hong Kong, and Greater China and North Asia (GCNA).
Lu succeeds Jerry Zhang formerly cluster CEO for China and Japan, and executive vice chairperson of Standard Chartered China who has been named global co-head of financial institutions coverage, relocating to Hong Kong.
Previously holding senior management positions in Chinese and international banks, Lu brings 30 years of experience in the industry to her new role.
Since joining Standard Chartered in 2014, Lu has been in several leadership positions, including head of corporate and investment banking (CIB) and deputy CEO at Standard Chartered China.
Under Lus leadership, Standard Chartereds China CIB business has consistently been the top network income originator for the group, according to the firm.
