Tom Daniels has joined Advanced Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Consulting as head of strategic initiatives.
Based in Pittsburgh, he will report directly to Ed Blount, founder and CEO of the firm.
Previously, Daniels spent two years at Aon Consulting, where he led the build of their securities lending oversight efforts and was the practice lead for securities lending and asset manager consulting.
Prior to Aon, Daniels held a 22-year tenure at BNY Mellon, where he worked across client management and business development.
At the bank, he was head of securities lending business development for the Americas, a position he held for 14 years.
Commenting on his new role, Daniels says: “The firm’s goal is to synthesise and replicate more of the decision-making at the trading desk level as predictable patterns of capital movement exist within securities finance.
“Therefore, it’s just up to the models to learn to use their best predictive features, and the experts to select and train the models. That’s what we do and what I’ll be focusing on.â€
Blount adds: “Tom’s diverse knowledge of both the beneficial owner and agent lender sides of the industry, from a technical as well as strategic perspective, will be of great value.â€
