Global Principles for Sustainable Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï Lending Community Interest Company (Global PSSL CIC) has appointed Michael Riggs to the CIC board as a non-executive director.
Riggs, who currently works on sustainable development in the United Nations system, will act as a chief programme advisor for the Global PSSL Secretariat in his role as non-executive director.
He has been working with Global PSSL as a programme advisor since September 2023.
In addition, Riggs has worked with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a specialised agency of the United Nations, for more than two decades — most recently as a technical advisor.
Between 2014 and 2015, he served as programme officer at the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development.
His promotion to chief programme advisor aims to strengthen Global PSSL in its mission to improve securities finance and the broader sustainable finance sector.
Radek Stech, CEO of Global PSSL, comments: “We’re all very grateful for the valuable contribution Michael has made so far. This appointment will allow us to capitalise on his skills, and is great news for stakeholders wanting to strengthen governance around sustainable finance and ESG.â€
Riggs expressed his enthusiasm, adding: “Global development and prosperity depend upon mature practices and strong and decisive actions. Global PSSL is providing a clear mandate and mechanism through which to improve securities lending, and I very much look forward to contributing in whatever way I can.â€
