S&P Global has appointed Eric Aboaf as executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), effective February 2025.

As CFO and member of the executive leadership team, Aboaf will oversee all aspects of the company's finance function.

He will report to Martina Cheung who assumes her role as president and CEO of S&P Global on 1 November 2024.

In his new role, Aboaf succeeds Christopher Craig who will continue to serve in his interim CFO capacity until February.

Aboaf joins from State Street where he has served as CFO for nearly eight years, and as vice chairman since 2022.

Prior to that, he was CFO at Citizens Financial Group in New York, and he also spent more than 12 years at Citi, most recently as global treasurer.

Commenting on the hire, Cheung says: “With a well-established record of driving sustainable growth, as well as a deep understanding of the markets and regulatory landscape in which we operate, [Aboaf] will help ensure we continue to deliver strong value for our shareholders in alignment with our strategy."
