Cantor Fitzgerald Expands Prime Services

Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. announced recently that Bob Sherry and David Kim are joining the firm as COO for Prime Services and Director of Prime Services Technology, respectively. "Additions to our management team are responsive to our customers' request that Cantor build a prime service capability to help meet their needs, and reflective of the continuing expansion of Cantor's global capital markets and investment banking business," said Noel Kimmel, Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Prime Services. He added that an unwavering focus on superior client service and multi-asset capabilities are hallmarks of Cantor's prime service platform.

"The depth of experience with prime brokerage and strong client service pedigrees that Bob and David bring to our growing team will be invaluable assets as we build out our platform," Mr. Kimmel said. "Bob has built and managed equity prime brokerage divisions at Furman Selz, ING and ABN Amro that were widely recognized and highly regarded within the industry for exceptional execution and excellent client service. David's proven ability to translate business concepts into technology workflow and applications will enable Cantor to offer clients best in breed reporting, data interfaces, execution capabilities and other innovative technology solutions," concluded Mr. Kimmel.

Mr. Sherry has over 25 years experience in the financial arena. In addition to his management experience in Prime Brokerage at Furman Selz, ING and ABN Amro he has buy-side experience as President of Miller & Jacobs Capital, a diversified asset management firm. Earlier, he was with Spear, Leeds & Kellogg. Mr. Sherry was recently recognized by Global Custodian as one the most influential people in the prime brokerage industry.Mr. Kim joins from Citigroup, where he served as Senior Vice President of Prime Finance Technology, responsible for management and oversight of all hedge fund technology services globally for Citi's Prime Finance unit. Prior to Citi, Mr. Kim was with Lehman Brothers, where his responsibilities encompassed development of the firm's client web portal, LehmanLive, construction and management of its data warehouse and trade booking service for prime brokerage, and management of hedge fund technology for Neuberger Berman Correspondent Clearing & Prime Brokerage.

Cantor Fitzgerald added nearly a hundred sales and trading professionals in 2008 and another 125 new strategic hires since the first of this year. Focused on a capital structure-centric business model and cross-market strategy, Cantor's continuing to grow its fixed income, equity and investment banking businesses.
