BNP Paribas grows prime brokerage team

BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking has recently announced the following appointments in its Prime Brokerage business. Jeffrey Mettel has joined the Capital Introduction team as a Director in New York and Afi Lowery, also a Director, moves to manage the Capital Introduction effort for the Southwest Region based in Dallas, Texas. Both report to Emma Sugarman, Head of Capital Introduction, Americas.
Commenting on the appointment, Emma Sugarman said: "Jeff is a great addition to the Capital Introduction team, his experience in asset allocation brings invaluable perspective to our clients and depth for our investors. I'm also delighted to welcome Afi. Her knowledge of BNP Paribas' Prime Brokerage business and senior relationships coupled with her experience in the Hedge Fund industry will combine to make her a great success in Capital Introduction."
BNP Paribas' Prime Brokerage Capital Introduction group is a vital component of the Prime Brokerage business. Offering individualized service to Hedge Fund clients as well as numerous opportunities to meet institutional investors. The team provides intelligent introductions and a wide breadth of activities and events with a focus on pension funds, foundations, endowments, consultants, fund of funds and family offices.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was Co-founder of Muirfield Capital Management, a fund of hedge funds. Before Muirfield, he spent several years in Investment Banking for firms including Prudential Íø±¬³Ô¹Ï and the Jordan, Edmidton Group. Afi has been with the BNP Paribas Prime Brokerage team since 2000 as a Director. Previously she held positions for NYNEXT Corporation and a Hedge Fund in Atlanta. Afi is a founding member of the Texas 'Women on Wall Street' organization.
